Question Master Cylinder sight glass replacement

Anybody have replace the sight glass in a master cylinder(MC) before? I just bought my wife a 99 shadow that has been outside for 10+ years. Along with some other problems the sight glass in the MC is hazed and cracked. I bought a sight glass replacement "kit" from New River Cycle Salvage. The kit is a round piece of glass, 2 stainless steel allen screws for the cover and some instructions.

To paraphrase the instructions...
Remove brake fluid from MC
Break out the old sight glass
RTV in the new sight glass
Refill the MC

Advice or tips?

Start by removing the MC from the bike. Clean the MC and glass as good as possible. The rtv should go on first then press the glass in. Wipe around the glass with finger as you would with caulking removing excess rtv. Lay the MC on its side and place something on the glass to apply a little pressure (just enough to hold the glass in place).Let the rtv sit over night.

Good luck. let us know it turns out. Pics are good.
