Look what I found

Following a post ride check of the 9er I discovered a broken exhaust tab.
Seems the underside of the headers have taken a bump by PO and this is
the result.
Fortunately my mate Griz is a Fitter. Only found it after a degrease.
It did rattle when I went over a corrugated gravel road recently,
so I suspected something was amiss.

Good catch, mate. Prevention better than a cure - Griz'll be on to that in no time...

And that's actually a common issue, and common cause of some rattle.

It's actually one of the 9ers common character flaws, I imagine most of them are running around with broken exhaust mounts, it'll be fine

Yeah she has some character flaws alright. May have to change the set up anyway if I go for a low slung exhaust. Love the under seat pipes but they might have to go if I can't remedy the stink. Plenty of info on this site to try out before I go there though. "Cheers Guy's"

Mine was busted on my 02 as well. I never fixed it though, rattle never bothered me.
