Little Help ??? Valve Ticking Sound ???

Got a 07 with only 4700 miles. Have something I believe on the left side front of the engine making what sounds like a valve ticking. It's louder when the bike is cold. The strange thing, seems to only make it when the bike is moving. I can't hear it when I rev it cold or hot. Any ideas? I owned a few VFR's, this is my first 919... Save the "left handed monkey wrench" comments for the kids... Thanks

4700 miles, that thing isn't good and broken in yet.

You're probably hearing the fuel injectors. Nothing to worry about.

I believe it is the fuel injectors. I hear the exact same thing, used to drive me insane. It's not too bad initially on start up, worst about a minute in, and slowly gets better as the bike heats up. If you drag the clutch hard with the brakes held at a stop, it gets very loud. I'm pretty sure everyone has that sound, and nobody has had a problem.

I get a little valve train noise if I load the engine up. If I'm in too high a gear, low revs and I pin the throttle there is some valve train rattle.

Audible piston slap from a low mileage, tight cylinder wall clearance engine with rather dimensionally stable cast super pistons, that's water cooled sounds is a rather iffy proposition in my mind.

Injector noise is much more likely, like others above have already suggested.
