Lever replacement

Hey kiddies, it's been a while since I've pestered you guys for advice, but I'm coming out of the wood work to ask a stupid question...

Let's say I dropped my bike (and it was totally not in front of a really hot guy) and I busted by oem brake lever. What would I need to consider when replacing it with an aftermarket lever? Another stupid question, should I just bite it and replace both levers at the same time?

And does anyone have a non-fucked clutch cover they want to part with?

It's nice to hear you're still riding and with us. My kids bought me a pair of Pazzo shorty levers for fathers day, they're great. If you can't afford those PM me and I can send you the one/s I took off.

Shiny side up

If you just search for replacement levers with the vendor (or ebay), just search CB900F or Honda 919, etc. and it will show aftermarket options for levers.

Ebay has good cheap options, but the anodizing fades quickly.

My big concern is that I'm super impatient. It's gorgeous outside, and the road is calling. Is this something that I call waltz my happy ass down to cycle gear and pick up, or do they come in flavors and I need the right ones for the niner?

*flaming gay voice* oh jeeze i hate it when i drop my bike in front of a hot guy.... happens ALLL the time when i see pvster or googlit

haha

The 919 levers are pretty generic... your best bet if you want it asap, pull it off the bike drive down to cyclegear and match it up. But they should be able to just look it up for you.

There are also the ebay knockoffs and if you get silver you wont really have to worry about anodizing fade... and they look cool.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/CNC-Clutch-B...a85baa&vxp=mtr

But if these guys are good on their word... and they always are, send em 10 bucks, have them throw it in a 5.20 cent usps flat rate small box and it will be to your house in 3 days.

And glad to see you stop by... its been lonely around here

Cycle gear has them. I think the speedmetal brand is like 50 bucks a lever or something. On ebay you can get the cheap adjustables for like 50 bucks a pair. I had them on my 9er and they worked great.

I also have the stock levers I'd sell you for $100 bucks for the pair.....

There's a bit to get a hold of, it's just kinda sketchy for dealing with Dallas traffic.

Ebay adjustable levers are all the same. The cheaper you can get em the better. I recently paid $28 AUD shipped for mine about a month ago, they're black and there is no fading.
Also had a black pair on my old bike for 2 years and there was no fading even with daily use

Yeah, only thing I would say is red is more of a magenta. Black or silver would be good. I had black with red adjusters, and the adjusters were faded. Good deal though!

Thanks for all the replies, guys.

I couldn't find anything local, so I'm going the ebay route.

There is a person I use on ebay, they come from China but they come in a mix of styles and colors and options and the pricing just can not be beat, and they are pretty durable I'll admit.

The ebay store is the2wheels . They have a website that is non-ebay and I have ordered from both and I have to admit that it actually took less time for them to come from the ebay purchase, but that might just have been a fluke.

I've bought both just the lever sets as well as a full set of controls and I have purchased from them multiple times and it has always been worth the wait. Here is a set of the full controls I just recently purchased for my Hawk and also some of them mounted on my Hornet.

Not sure if you got rid of these already, but I would pay shipping for the stock levers if that offer still stands.

I'm late to the party but my advice is to ride it like a Harley. AKA no front brake needed.
