IOM TT - Adjustment wheel on left grip

I may be showing my ignorance... but....

Watching Isle of Man TT coverage. All of the bikes I'm seeing have an adjustment wheel, cable operated, mounted just above and inboard of the left hand grip.

What is it for?

Steering damper possibly?

I believe it is an adjustment that allows the brake lever to adjust out. During the race the brake lever will start coming closer to the grip as the pads wear. The wheel is cable operated and can be adjusted without letting go of the throttle.

I think this is what you're describing? It would certainly make sense and aligns with what I'm seeing.
