Installed Renthal UL bars...now left hand switch hits the tank

Anyone else have the problem with the left hand switch assembly hitting the tank after installing Renthal Ultra-low bars? (Right hand side is fine.)

Guess I'll weld or epoxy something to the steering stop. Better ideas?

This sounds odd.
I have bar end od mount mirrors on my ULs so my pod is in further than normal to begin with.
I have over 1/2 inch gap between pod and tank.
Your bars are either offset to the side a bit or more likely, rotated down too much.
You should not be getting contact.
IF you are resolute that you want the bars rotated down so much that they hit, then reducing the steering lock is obligatory.
If I was to reduce lock, I would not weld.
Instead, drill and tap the triple clamp tang that the frame tab hits.
Locate the hole centred on the frame tab.
Thread in a hex head or allen head capscrew.
Voila, no welding, and easily reversible.
Can also file the head of the fastener to alter the change in lock.

Sounds like you have the bars tilted too far back. It's all preference...but it works better if you rotate the bars forward a little more so your clearance is fine. Before super tightening the bar clamps, make sure the full lock left and right clearance works for you. I had Renthal ultra lows on my 919 and the clearance was just fine when adjusted properly.

Mine clears the tank by about 1/16" of an inch, all you have to do is adjust the bars forward just a small amount.

Mine clear the tank by about 3/16ths on each side.
