Hi all, Mark here from sunny England.
I am sprucing up my hornet in quite a radical way (see profile pic) and after the alterations I thought I’d try to run the engine before I go any further. I’ve Reconnected everything that was disconnected and tried to fire the bike but no success.
The starter relay clicks, dashboard lights go on off as normal, the engine turns over just as it did two years ago (I know it’s been a while) battery is freshly charged and good voltage, alas no spark from the plugs.
The only engine mod is PAIRS valve block off.
I fitted an external fuel pump thats pushing petrol to the right place.
I fitted a new LED headlight, so other than that the wiring loom is intact as before.
The Regulator/Rectifier has been repositioned and plugged back in- I think the same way, but with all three words being yellow, it’s not helpful. This shouldn’t prevent the bike starting I assume, just charging properly.
The bike has been legendarily good at starting time after time with135,356 miles, yep, it’s been a brilliant bike and will be again...so..
Can anyone offer any suggestions as to why it would lose its spark?
