Might be tedious, but opening up each map in the software will give you more details of what's inside it (if they put notes in it, etc.).

If it was my map you used, just note that it was set for 4800ft elevation.

I noticed the high elevation maps and avoided those. I'm at about 600 feet here. The one i did use did not specify elevation.

The closest tuning center is 100 miles away. Going to call dyno jet tomorrow.

Well, there were 4 maps with the 900rr header. In the Dropbox folder, this is the path:

919\Power Commander Files\McRomo44 Compilation\Maps\919\w 900 RR headers.

The 4 files are:

I say just try my map at least at first. I really don't think you'll hurt anything, if anything, it will just run slightly richer than my elevation would (but still less rich than stock in most RPM areas, which is probably what you're looking for anyway).

Dumb question: what dropbox link? I've been itching to throw a map at my 900RR + Yosh CF setup.

Ok loaded that up and it runs much better now. That and I forgot to plug the fitting that used to connect to the pairs system. Got a plug on it now but the old clamp is too small and frigging Autozone doesn't carry spring clamps that big. Bastiges.

Question....

I bought my 9er with the 900rr header conversion and a Danmoto can on there. Should I be running a power commander?

Would I use this map?

You don't have to, by any means. But it does make a difference. PC with PAIRS removed and more open exhaust on the 919 makes a world of difference.

Ok, thanks. I think I'd like to put one on eventually. I just wanted to double check that the engine wouldn't have been smoked without one.

I put a PCIII on my RC51 and it was like a completely different bike. The 919 is already very smooth due to the inline 4 cyl, but a PC would still be a nice addition one day.

The map provided by googleit and my correction of certain errors I made during pairs removal have unleashed the beast. It pulls hard in all gears with no perceptible dips in the power-band. It has more power everywhere. Seat of the pants dyno tells me i have picked up maybe 20 hp and god knows how much torque. It's all on tap in any gear whenever you want it. Grab a handful of throttle and the front wheel will point towards the heavens where Jesus awaits your untimely arrival.

^^ lol, it's probably more like 4-5 hp, maybe. And the map itself doesn't 'make' the horsepower, it just makes what potential power the bike has more usable, or at least user friendly, if that makes sense.

Whatever it did, it did it well. Why Honda neutered it is beyond me. Until recent years naked bike enthusiasts were always given emasculated bikes with crap suspensions. I'm glad to see things turning the page there.

Also, it seems your elevation in WI is about 1800 ft, so you definitely feel more power with that map than I even had here at 5k. No matter how hard I hammered it in 2nd gear, I never got the front to come up (unless I hit a bump at the PERFECT rpm range, then it would a tiny bit).

First gear was hard enough to get the wheel up without a bit of clutch as well.

My buddy lofted the front wheel in 3rd as I watched him pass by. No clutch. I lifted it in 1st and 2nd. Much more fun.

While I despise the EPA, you need only to look the Speed Triple, FZ1, Z1000, and Tuono to see that naked bikes need not be emasculated to pass EPA regs, nor do they need to have bargain bin suspension bits.

Naked bikes were looked at as second tier motorcycles and given second tier parts for many years, Honda was a full decade behind the others in realizing that some of us don't wan't to contort themselves anymore to have a sportbike experience.
