Headlight issues

I installed some HIDs today and I think I may have burned something out. I have a Barracuda headlight that takes two H8 bulbs instead of the single bulb from the original headlight. I had issues with the low beam only working every now and then. The high was fine until I went to go on bike this evening and they went out. Looked and sure enough the 10A fuse was blown, it blew another one and someone said I might need to bump it to a 15 and it blew. stupid like I tried a 20 but it didn't blow. When I got home I took off the HIDs and all the ballasts and went back to stock but no go.

With the bike running, there is no power across the fuse block where the headlight fuse goes. And there is no power coming out of the headlight connector as well. All my other lights work best kind. Where else should I check? The service manual has very little info in it.

All help appreciated

Thanks

Mel

maybe theres a dodgy connection or an exposed wire touching the frame somewhere. A good place to look would be near the steering stops.

are you using the stock wiring to power the two bulbs? if so its VERY likely you fried one of the connections.... more than likely the connection for the headlight cut on the STARTER switch in the throttle grip housing.

How many watts was the setup pulling?

I'm running the barracuda light as well my lows wouldn't work with the dual dominators that were on it when I bought it, it was poppin fuses all the way home, after the new headlight (which I spliced the standard wire into 2 on the low side) and from then on the 10a fuse has been fine) . Check the relay.

This form rocks. It was the starter switch wire. The solder let go. Now just have to repair it.

After my 3 weeks vacation I may look at putting back the HIDS :-)
