Handlebar, grips, and mirror swap out

Hey guys!

This site has been a place of reference for me for many years now. I never took the time to make an account until recently and wanted to share my most recent upgrade on my 919, Victoria. I took out the god awful stock bars, replaced the mirrors, and ended up making the stupid decision of buying white grips. The Renthal ultra lows and bar end mirrors look awesome. The grips did too until I got them dirty just by looking at them.

I have a blog about motorcycles with tutorials and stuff over at MyLifeExplored.com and I decided to do a write up about how to install these bars on the 919, too. If figured I'd start off at WT with some instructions for a super easy mod.

Instructions: How to Replace Stock Handlebars, Mirrors, and Grips ? My Life Explored
My Review: Product Review: Renthal Ultra Low 7/8? Street Handlebars ? My Life Explored

If you have any questions regarding installation and my opinion of them, I'd love to answer them for you.

From one 919 lover to another

Alex

Hopefully you checked this forum first before doing a write up? Nearly everything that can be done to the 919 is documented on here. It's a great wealth of info, this forum.

I did check out the forum, the biggest tutorial that i could find seemed to gloss over some of the things that I came across during my bar installation.

And, definitely not spam man - sorry.

Welcome to the forum.

It's a good thing that people still show interested enough into the 919 to do up some video posts for How-to's. Some things that seem obvious to many are often not to everyone, so good exposure, and instruction is definitely a bonus! Don't listen to the nay sayers if there are any. Keep up the great work and eventually someone may have some appreciation for it. I myself went with Renthal Ultra Lows on my Hornet when i had it and I doubt there is a much better stance for me. I coupled it with a carbon fiber fly screen (originally from a Bell M2) and it had an awesome look to it, plus gave me a little wind buffer to tuck into. I'm no fan of bar end mirrors but that is because they seem to be magnets for people to swat at when the walk by so for me its a practical choise, lol)

FWIW your website is slow, like really slow, but maybe it's just circumstantial.

You may want to upload those video's to youtube so that they can be accessed a little more quickly, and then you can also embed them directly to the site here for others to see.

Thanks for the encouraging words! I've received a lot of support and encouragement so far and there's only been a few nay sayers. I love the stance the ultra lows have. As for people hitting your mirrors - that'd make me go ballistic. I guess there is a benefit to living in the middle of nowhere haha.

Also, I took a look at my site and did a few alterations - changed the cdn, purged cache files, and trimmed down my page. Hopefully that helps. Thanks for the headsup!

Thanks for this post. I actually just ordered the Ultra Lows and a pair of CRG LS mirrors but will be holding off on the install until I've got some proper seat time with the stock controls.
