GP Exhaust Mod

So after my chain broke off and slapped my Yoshi's I decided to go through with the side exhaust mod. Leaving the 919 pipes to keep the engine mount. Will be cutting, welding, and redirecting the pipe to exit around the rear sets. Decided on getting an M4 short exhaust.

My question is does the difference in diameter of the Yamaha, Suzuki M4s matter (or cause problems) if I am fabricating an adapter anyways?
