Question Gel Vs. AGM Batteries

Looking for real world feedback from users of each type of battery. From what I have read AGM batteries seem to last longer, have better CCA ratings and are not picky on the type of charger used on them. What say the collective?

No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationary.

AGM if you dont mind spending the extra dough. We sell both at my boat dealership and the longevity on the AGM's tend to be better for us in the hotter climate. Im sure someone will chime in and disagree tho.

I just got a AGM battery so I don't have any feedback just yet. I have used gel batteries before and they are great except they do not preform well in the cold at all.

AGM is what you should get for a motorcycle. They outsell Gell batteries 100 to 1. More at: Compare and Contrast Between AGM and Gel Batteries

Why is better to get a battery just because more of them are sold?????? If I have my way I'll may be going with one of the A123 pack type batteries on my project bike but I am just curious why the idea of going with the one that is sold the most the better idea?

I am not sure but I know there are plenty of folks out there selling the battery packs overall. I'm just looking for something light and small but if worse comes to worse I may just end up going with a Ballistix.

I ended up going Yuasa AGM. Picked it up from Amazon for $48.

I got my battery notto long ago and always wanted to ask if anyone knew this. There is a YTZ10S and an YTZ10A battery. All my local auto parts places carried the "A" but not the "S" anyone know what the difference is?

I think it may be the overall size. I bought a batt about a year ago, checked walmart and all the other big chain shops and I believe the "A" was all I could find. Till I called up batteries plus. I'm thinking the "A" is too tall to fit in the 9'er. Don't take my word for it though, I've slept since then.
