Gear ration change

Hey guys I'm in the midst of changing many items on my 03 919 for the 2018 summer. One of those being a new chain and front and rear gears. What are your opinions on 17/43? I heard it's about as close to accurate to speedo readings @ 2% high, with stock being 11% high. What can I expect with this change? Highway rpm? More bottom end or high end? Etc etc thanks

Yes but that would not be a change. He is saying 17/43 is too far, go to 17/44. I did 17/43, ready to try 17/44 if winter ever leaves. 17 will make it accelerate slower & lower highway rpm (but the tach/speedo relationship wont look any different). 44 vs 43 brings a little more back.

I feel ya on the winter deal, we just got 12.5" Monday. So adding a tooth to each (17/44) will bring it closer to actual speedo reading? And retain more of the factory acceleration and rpm?
