Gauge Face replacement?

Water has found its way into the speedo and Tach on my 919 resulting in a few small ( max 8mm) bubbles. It's not a big deal and I believe the issue is just cosmetic, but haven't torn it all apart.

I am a little obsessive about the bike...

Is there an alternative to buying a used speedo assembly (~$400) ? Seems to be no shortage of replacement gauge backgounds for cars- havent seen any for the bike and dont know if replacing just the numbered background is an option..

Thanks

I'm not sure if the 599 hornet has the same gauges. Also not sure if you are near Ontario canada anywhere but I found these.

Please view this ad:

599 Hornet Guage Faceplates, New,

Price: $*20

Which also leads me to believe that they might be available for the 919 as well

Download the application from the Google Play Store.

I am not $200 fussy, but that seems like a good deal if i lived in AUS.

Here's an option. Plenty more on eBay.

The gauges on my 9er are cracked, so I do wonder about the mileage when installing new gauges. Is it pretty simple to program in the old mileage in to the new gauges? Anyone know?

599 gauges will not work. I had both bikes. 599 redline is higher and the connections are quite a bit different. Also, they changed gauges between the 2004 and 2006 years from analog to digital.

I guess you could try getting the digital one's to work, if it could read all of the values. One thing for sure that probably wouldn't work would be the fuel level sensor.

Why not go custom?

Wasn't there a ballin' write up of Koso Gauges or wtvr it's called?

Gives it a more modern look.

Though I would assume it's worth it if you re-do the entire from end, to modernize the whole area.

This was a great read for Koso gauges. I ended up buying those gauges from Arctic and had a blast with them. Yes, they are a bugger to install, but are the shiznit.
