Front end rattle above 6.5k rmp.

Hey guys,

My niner makes a high pitched metal dinging noise above 6.5k rpm in any gear. It is coming from the front of the bike. I have no idea where it's coming from. When i installed my tires i made sure everything was torqued to spec but the problem is still there.

I think it might be the crack on my front fender but i don't think it can make that noise.

Any suggestions?

I tried revving up the bike during idle but no noise (hopefully i didn't wake the neighbours lol). It only happened when i was moving. I'll record it tomorrow after work

Do you have Givi crash bars?

I sometimes get an annoying buzz from the headlight rim, around 5000 to 6000 rpm. Not always there.

May be that cracked fender but i'd also venture you may need to check the Triple tree bearings but if they are really bad you should feel it when coming to a stop or turning the bars, regardless of the engine speed.

I also get a front end buzzing around 6k rpm. Sounds a lot like a loose heat shield on a car buzzing at specific rpm vibrations. My friend get it on his 919 too so I think it's normal.

Sorry for the late reply but i couldn't get any decent recordings of the noise. The noise has been there since i got it so i'm not too worried.

Bet it's your headlight rim. There's a fix. Put a bit of silicon under it.
