Faulty ECM?

Hello all! I recently picked up a 2007 919 and it ran fine for the first two days of having it. On the third I put 91 Octane gas in it and for some reason that's when the problems started.

Here are the list of problems I've had so far:

-Idles roughly sometimes, normal the other times
-Will sometimes die when stopped or coming to a stop
-when I turn the bike on the gauges sweep and I'll hear the fuel pump, but the fuel pump sounds odd
-the gauges will sometimes reset like I'm turning the bike on when I have the ignition already on (bike not started yet) or when I'm riding or just moving it around.
-The FI light comes on and stays on for about 7-10 seconds then disappears.

Another thing is that the day I got it the battery it had died so I put in the one from my Ninja 300 and it worked fine for the first two days and I'm not sure if that has something to do with it. It does not have a power commander. I also noticed that it crackles and backfires a lot and it does have a Danmoto carbon exhaust on it, but I've never hear a bike that sounded like that. So I'm not sure if's it the battery causing the problems or if the ECU has gone bad. Thanks for any help.

Does it have gas in it

If it does, you might have got bad gas. I'd syphon it all out and get some fresh gas from a reputable place.

Alright I'm in the process of getting it all out now. Thanks for your input I thought that's what could be part of the problem as well.

A poor earth under the tank might cause the bike to run that way. Maybe a bad electrical contact somewhere. Do all the header pipes heat up evenly?

You didn't do any drilling on the under tail recently did you? It's happened and people have drilled into the ECU.

This is normal while the fuel pump is priming

Bad battery? My FJR acted just like that when the battery was on it's way out.

The bike came with an aftermarket fender eliminator when I bought it and it looks like they just used the two bolts that were already there. For myself I have done no drilling anywhere on it.

I bought a new battery and it's currently on it's way to me now so I hope that's what it is.

I'm not sure quite yet but I did buy a new battery for it. The Ninja battery is a tad bit bigger than the one for the 919 so I had the basically tie it to the side of the bike since the bike is my only way of transport. The Ninja battery won't fit into the slot so maybe it sticking out somewhere is leaving something exposed like you say.

This is true but this is when I'm actually already in gear and doing 20-30 mph so that's what's confusing me.
