f4i forks shaft compatibility with stock

I got a set of f4i forks on ebay, with the intention to put them on my 919. They seem to be leaking oil, and upon examination, I see that some of the shaft(?) surface is a little pitted /scratched up. Not sure if shaft is the right word, by shaft i mean the shiny cylindrical portion on each fork leg that is bolted to the triple tree.

anyway, does anyone know if the shaft from my stock forks will fit the f4i forks (as my stock ones are in good shape). I would want to keep the adjustable top park (compression/preload) from the f4i forks, only using the good condition shaft from my older (non adjustable) 2002 919 forks.

thanks!!
Chris

it looks like part numbers are different for the f4i fork tube and the 919... but they are so similar id suggest to take em apart and compare, it could just be that for what ever reason honda decided to use a different part number for the same thing.

but i would keep an eye out, there might be very VERY minute differences (a hole somewhere etc) for the compression adjustment or something along those lines.. but really the tube is just that a tube that holds the main bushings... all the rebound n compression adjustments are either in the top cap or in the bottom leg.

zaq is correct.
They are not interchangeable as the bushing locations do not match up.
This experiment has been tried and proven not to be workable.
