f4i fork diameter

I apologize in advance if this has already been covered before. I searched and could not find the answer.

Here's what I've got: I am having a bike mechanic do the f4i fork swap for me and he called telling me the diameter is larger on the f4i forks and that they are not fitting into the triple. He's saying the 919 forks are 47mm and the f4i's are 48. Will this matter? Any info. would be greatly appreciated!

It's a direct swap. The tubes are 43mm if I recall. Will double check.

Edit: Just confirmed, 43mm.

No idea where that's coming from. The tube, which goes into the upper and lower triples, is 43mm for both 919 and f4i. You can even still use your 919 axle bolt with the f4i forks. Should an easy swap; not sure what the issue is.

Edit:

Do your f4i forks look like this (except the color, I had them powder coated):

Apparently not f4/f4i forks

Apparently they are not f4/f4i forks. These are about 45mm OD. Not the end of the world, I got these for $40 locally. The PO did advertise them as f4 forks. I can sell them for more on Ebay. Just need to find out what they are really off of.

its possible. Are they similar length compared to the 919 forks?

If they are all of 2mm bigger and the same length, you could probably take the upper and lower to a shop and have them hone out the upper and lower triple without issue.

I going to guess early model 600RR forks are shorter then the F4i & 919 ..... i know the later model 600rr USD forks are really short in comparison.
