exhaust from two to one can

919: have you changed your exhaust from two cans to one ?

What processes did you need to go through.

I'm just wondering - I'd like to buy good quality bits, but if I can reduce those bits by 50%, such as with the exhaust cans, without negatively affecting performance - I'd like to know how to do it.

Just had lotsa wonderful feedback on a pciii, so I'm getting that bit to go...

No 10.

The only aftermarket single can I'm aware of is Two Bros., I've heard one and IMHO they sound pretty good.

Curious, did you use the two brothers right side pipe, modify your Y-pipe, or fabricate your own?

Ive got a mid pipe for a 599, after market one. Was going to go single sided but didnt. Its brand new. But shipping from NZ would be killer.

I'm not going to frown on anyone's efforts but I just feel it looks better to go with a low mount if you are going to do a 2 into 1 conversion. I never liked how the 599 looked with a single undertail exhaust, it looks incomplete to me. The only time undertail exhausts look correct is when they are either centered or duals, but that is just my $.02

If you run a centre stand and want to drop the weight of the stock system its the way to go.

I thought if you do the 900RR side conversion you will not be able to keep the center stand. I love my center stand. Is that true?

In most cases, yes, you'll have to do some modifications to the stand or brackets to get it to work.

My last bike was a ninja 500r and I miss the hell out of having a center stand.

If my 9er came with a center stand I probably wouldn't delete it to go low mount exhaust.

That being said, single can undertail setups do look odd to me when they are not centered under the tail. the 599's can looks strange to my eyes. to each their own.
