Cluster not working - bike is running fine, need help!
I have not posted here in a while, but I do follow the Motorcycle Picture Game every now-and-then... just busy with work.
I need some assistance though with a few ideas and maybe a confirmation. the bike fires up just fine, but the cluster will only show the temperature, the high beam, turn signals and that is about it. No Speed, no RPM, no total miles, no Trip Meter. Sometimes, when starting, the high-beam indicator comes on and I do not have a light, even before I push the kick-start button. I suspected something there, but they (Honda dealer) have said that it is OK...
I took it to the dealer after unplugging wires and finding nothing wrong with them. they measured "everything", checked the ECU, verified impulse from the wheel sensor and came up with "the microprocessor in the cluster is bad - does not register"... Basically I need a new cluster gauge (the inside). they are asking for $390.00 just for the part (from salvage) because there was nothing online... However, I found this one: Speedometer Gauges Cluster Tachometer for Honda Hornet 900 CB900 CB919F 02 07 | eBay
I am reluctant to buy from China though...
Edit: It sounds like really all you need are the internal workings, part 37200-MCZ-A10, not the entire thing. Someone here should have a broken set where the external plastics are broken but the internal workings are fine.
Thank you for looking into this for me, CB700S. I have been searching for "Cluster" only, so I missed this one that you posted.
The dealer was offering one to me for $390.00, new - I may put in an offer for $150. I did not want to spend more than $200 on the whole deal. I may start a new thread with WTB.

Suggest you point out the completed auction that just ended today when you make the offer so as to show the seller what the market price really is.
Also, you may not be so thankful when you find out I was the guy that won that auction. :P. Nobody was watching it and nobody bid on it so I tossed one in with six seconds left. :P and yes, I need one for mine.
