changing exhausts...

ok today i found a s/s exhaust off a 99 900rr and i picked it up for a song..

so here it is getting cleaned up a bit..

i removed the old one and layed it to the side... ready to find it a new owner..

and here is where i discovered the boogered up threads on the exhaust stud.. that then sent me on a quest to find metric dies...

tomorrow we will conclude the installation of the single sided exhaust..

noooooooooooooooooooooooo............

its nice to make noise.... but that thing is vicious when you ride for a few hundred...

sunday when me and jeffspeak and tk919 went for a ride that shorty droning in my ear all day... then monday i had a physical with a hearing test...

my right ear was 22% worse than my left one...

now that may have something to do with 3 ex wives sitting on that side in the car... and the fact that ear is cauliflowered from fighting/wrestling/getting a full 40 beer bottle bounced off it in anger....

but still i have decided to take better care of my hearing...

I can relate to that, I have some permanent hearing loss and a non stop ringing in my right ear from years of working around loud equipment and not using the proper hearing protection. I'm pretty careful nowdays, I cant afford to lose any more.

Looks like you found a header in great shape. I had one stud on mine slightly messed up but was able to make it work with some WD-40. Good luck getting it fixed up today.

i traded au919 a set of renthals for them.... and i love these bars... for us bigger guys they help us stretch our arms... and it gives me more the feel of riding a sport bike but without all the weight on the wrists.... i recomend them highly........

but you can build them easily... either pm or call me and i will take measurments for you..

i have the same bars on my bike, they came with it when i bought it. i held the stock bars up to mine, and that was all i ever needed to know that these are killer. as mentioned, they help stretch out your arms a little bit more, but are'nt crazy low, and the drawback is a very comfortable angle!
