Chain Tension/life on ZZR600

Hi There i have a 1996 ZZR600 with a chain that i adjusted about a week ago i left it with roughly half to three quaters of an inch deflection and have only covered about 200 miles but it seem to need ajusting again is this normal.

Any help galdly recieved.

1/2 to 3/4 sounds like it might be too tight, what does the manual call for?

Also a new chain will stretch initially, what's the mileage on them? Your slack should be more than 1"
