CBR1000RR tail swap onto 919

Because my life isn't frustrating enough.. if I can get this for a good price:

How much fab work am I looking at to put it on the 919? I was hoping to be creative and put the subframe of the 919 right up the middle where the exhaust would normally go...

Hrmmm. I think I need more pictures.

I wouldn't even consider doing this but if you must, some welding would be required. look on honda599 forum. Someone did it to 599. Why? I'm still not 100% sure

Just as a project. I'll check out the 599 forum. Thanks.

Might be an interesting project ... a single seater 919 using honda oem parts.

Not necessarily a lot of welding, you have the exhaust mounts + the existing tail section mounts to work with.

Post some pictures if you get started.

Not sure if this will tie into the tank and side covers, if it does go for it.

You will have to relocate the ecu and all the wiring, probably shorten the main box beam, weld new supports and tabs, fab a mid-pipe for the exhaust etc, etc, etc.

At least the 919 is steel so u can hack it up and reshape it fairly easily.

I think he will have to cut the whole tail section off and fab. cbr subfare supports to 9er frame.
