CBR 6 spoke wheel conversion axle spacers

I'm in the process of doing the 6 spoke wheel swap. I have everything I need except the front wheel axle spacers. I know a machinist that says he can modify the stock Honda spacers with a carbide insert on his lathe. Based on my own mock up and Lococnc's drawings, I planning on using the stock tapered spacer (.650) along with a custom (.462) spacer on the right side. The spacer on the left side will be a custom (.650).

There have been a number of posts regarding this wheel swap lately. Is anyone interested in a set of custom front axle spacers (2) as noted above? I'm thinking the cost per set would be cheaper if we have a few sets made at the same time.

I'm not sure what it will cost to machine the spacers. The stock spacers are about $15 a pair from partzilla.

Thoughts?

Be aware the spacers are hard as hell.

Also note that any damage to the outside diameter surface may affect wear on the dust seals.

Good luck!

Oh, and don't forget your 4mm spacers.

Thanks for the tips. What is the surface finish on the stock spacers? My front wheel came with an axle and the smaller spacer. The finish appears to be zinc plated. I bought a few spacers from partzilla and the appear to be glass beaded. Did you do anything to the finish on your spacers after machining?

I bought these for the caliper spacer as you recommended. they look and fit perfect.
