Any Elsinore mechanics out there?

I bought a 2013 CRF250 L last December. I had never ridden one when I bought it. My last 250 was a 73 CR, two stroke. I knew it wouldn't be as quick as the Elsinore, but I thought 30 years of technology would have made it competitive. It won't outrun a fat boy on a bicycle. I'm told an 85 CR250 Elsinore engine will bolt on with little trouble. My plan is to put a rebuilt 85 two stroke in place of the current engine. I want to leave everything else pretty much as is. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
I plan to premix the gas and oil. Will the fuel injector need to be changed?

That's why the 125 (149 cc actually) two strokes can race in the 250 four stroke class and 250 two strokes with the open bikes. You bought the wrong bike if you wanted 250 two stroke performance! They are apples and oranges, displacement to performance.

It would not be an easy swap. Think about the differences in the motor designs and periphery stuff like airbox, carb and exhaust on the two stroke versus the equivalent on the four stroke. The mounting tabs will also be in different locations, for everything.
