Another coolant change question

Ok, so i was installing my Koso water temp gauge by installing the 26mm adapter. So i needed to drain the coolant. Everything seemed right. Opened filler neck, opened reserve, unscrwed the drain bolt and out it came. Cut the his under tank to install the adapter and put the drain bolt back on. Started to fill coolant back in and i wad only able to put in 2 1/2 quarts including reserve. I thought it wad something like 3.6? Did i do something wrong?

Naw your good. Its something like 3.6 quarts for reserve and motor, but that's if its completely dry. A lot of times though a decent amount of liquid stays in the motor so you won't come close yo that 3.6 quart figure

Keep the cap open and start the bike. Let it run for a couple of min. This will help get all the air bubbles out
