Air Filter Housing Question

As a new owner, was very pleased with my first six hour day ride. The Corbin feels like a horse saddle. Suits me fine.

Today, I had a chance to explore her innards. Alas, I found an air filter element full of mouse nesting material. The outside of the filter looked good. Cleaned out the unit, but when I went to put the housing back together the vacuum hose was disconnected and plugged. Can someone please tell me what modification this is? As far as I can tell the Pair Block Off Plates mod has not been done. .

Thanks.

New to the Bike Explorer

P.S. After removing the mouse nest, I noticed nothing different. Maybe a little lighter and hopefully with better gas mileage to come.

As LDH linked, it had the flapper mod done to it. It basically just gives the bike a bit more grunt down low/adds intake noise

I'll never have the rat in a airbox problem with my ghetto air intake mod. Seems to happen a bit this rodent nesting in airbox. I've read other posts where this has happened. Lucky honda put that metal grill around air filter otherwise the little buggers could chew their way into airbox, and you'd suck all those little turds into your motor, maybe.
