919 rear wheel

Have a 2007 919 (cb900f), and was wondering if the rear wheel could be replaced with the 6x17 wheel from a cbr1000rr. What would be involved, and is any certain year best? Thanks for the input.

Unknown territory......but anything is possible with a machinist and the right spacers. But why? Extra 919 rims are cheap.

The other given is that the 900RR rear wheel is a direct bolt on.

Are you wanting to stay 3-spoke? I have an OEM flat black 919 rim available if interested. If you want the 6-spoke, the 900RR rears are a dime a dozen. I got mine for $75 on ebay.

You want the look, don't you.

You are going to put a 190 on a bike that was designed for the profile of a 180.

It's your option to do so, but some of the more knowledgeable boys here can advise you of the drawbacks.

But can't you put a 190 tire on the stock rims? You get a bit easier turn-in, if I'm not mistaken.

Smaller contact patch, wears the center of the tire quicker and looks goofy to some because it balloons up the rear. I've seen this convo on pretty much every bike forum I'm on, but this a new one for me on the 919. I'm sure you will get the same points from others but I'm just cutting to the chase.
