919 Kickstand Alternatives

I've never been particularly thrilled with the 919's kickstand - the pin you use to put it down seems to be too short and my boot often slips off it partway through the downward arc. Just found out mine has a small crack in the foot (it was bent by the PO when I got it) so I was wondering if there were aftermarket kickstands or kickstands from other bikes that would work better.

can't help with aftermarket or other kickstands that fit, but if it's cracked, i'd get a new one. or at least find someone that can weld yours up. that's alot of money to be held up on a kickstand under best conditions. on the short pin, what i do is turn my foot out 90 degrees and put my heel on it.

If you need to get the foot welded anyway, get a 1 inch bolt welded onto the wee little catch knob.

Well, fire the engines! Spur this iron space-pony on!

i used to have trouble with getting the kickstand down with the centerstand in the way. when i figured out the 90 degree foot thing it fixed me right up. my foot goes right in between the peg and the centerstand. i do have wee little feet, though. (size 10) your mileage may vary.

Go use the kickstand on a 599, you'll be GLAD to go back to the 919.
