919 Help needed!

Hey all,

I'm looking at getting a used 2002 919 (35000kms) and the owner sent me through some pictures.
On one of those pictures I noticed what looks like some surface rust at the base of the head tube - check out the attached picture.
I figure this may be a sign of a front end crash causing some paint to flake off. Anyone want to comment on whether this is plausible or likely, or am I just smoking crack here???

Thx y'all!!

I ride mine in the rain quite a bit but don't have rust like that on the lower part of the head. I do have the rust inside the turn signal holders though. If it was stored outside and ridden in the rain I guess it could rust.

I just looked at mine again and where the vin number is etched into the head, it has some surface rust on it (inside the numbers)

I'd ask for a better picture of that spot if it isn't close enough to inspect personally.
