Word of mouth

For those of you facing big shipping charges getting bike stuff [clothing, helmets etc] from on-line suppliers overseas, I have had really good experiences with these folks here:<http://www.fc-moto.de>

Their site can do various languages and currencies, but most impressively, I have had two boxes of stuff DHL-delivered to NZ for a flat rate of around 20 Euros, which is $25-30 in NZ or Aus currency. One of the boxes contained a helmet and some sneaker-styled boots, so it wasn't tiny.

Check 'em out - it's worked out well for me.

Givi cases

So my new E22 Givi cases have arrived, unfortunately ahead of the frames on which to mount them, but we'll get there.

The remarkable thing is that these were delivered from Germany, from FC-Moto in Aachen 70km to the west of Cologne to New Zealand for 14.90 Euros, or about US$16.00.

That's pretty much the other side of the globe. Took 7 days. $16. Extraordinary.

Southern hemisphere guys, you've got to check them out.

It's nice to see a company that ships for reasonable prices.

That's an amazing shipping price considering the size of the box.

I'm guessing they do so many orders that they have a contract price with DHL, and sometimes DHL wins on little local deliveries, and sometimes they have to suck it up on deliveries to places like NZ.

It's interesting to set that cost alongside the $100 that Canadian Post charged for cc148 to mail me the frame mounts that will eventually carry the boxes - surface mail, delivery time up to six weeks. And it's only got to cross the Pacific, not come from Germany.
