Welcome to the future of painting

Check this out. If I wasn't in Hawaii and shipping prices wouldn't break the bank, I'd get some random pieces done like this.

I'm sure there are folks there in Hawaii that do water transfer printing. It's been around for a while.

But IMO, every piece I've seen it looks like schnit. Pause the video at 1:14, you can clearly see how uneven the patter spreads across the surface. So if you're ok with a random pattern, it's fine, but be prepared for lumps, creases, etc. if you get a crappy dipper.

Find a guy and inspect his work first and you should be fine.

This has been around for a while - they should have the process down. Most camo-colored hunting equipment (ATVs, guns, etc.), and many other patterns use this method.

Check the quality of the shop first, you should be fine.

Yeah, look around, its usually referrred to as hydro-dip (dipping)... Not to be confused with any other Hydro based products... :P

I had it done on a few pieces for my project Hawk and its a real nice professional finish, just like any paint job.
