Those who installed Renthal handlebars

Did you cut the ends off to reduce width? If so, by how much? I installed the ultra low & I like the feel but I don't like the width at all. Its too much of an arc for my arms.

Even if you didn't cut, how far in did you install the grips & controls to make it identical to stock width? I am not going to cut mine so that will be route I will be taking.

Mine are un-cut and the grips are as far out as they'll go, I like the extra width of the U/L's

I cut off an inch from both ends of my old ULs. Now I have TharBars which I set even narrower than the ULs.

I first cut 1/2 inch from each end of the ULs, but after a few weeks I cut another 1/4 inch off each end.

I've got the road mediums and I cut about 3/4" off each side. Sets well with me. I'm 5'-11"ish with kinda long arms if that gives you a point of reference.

I should clarify, I have road medium bars. They aren't cut. It feels like a heavy dirt bike. Lol.
And I'm 6'.

I didn't cut mine (road mediums) and have the switchgear in maybe an inch... I used the leftover bar space to mount my bar end mirrors since my bar end weights don't fit in the renthals and really aren't necessary with them either

Thanks guys, that helps. Looks like I will move the grips/controls 3/4 inch inwards & see how it feels.

EDIT: I would like to second Badmoon's opinion on the vibrations. I was amazed at how well the Renthal is damped without any bar end! I thought the stock bar with the weights was pretty good considering I am coming from a Gixxer which was quite "lively". But the ULs blow everything out of the water.

I'm sure the ul's are a little different than the mediums but watch how far you go in...I drilled mine in a little to far and now my clutch lever is at a bit of an angle to the bar... Woops!

One more vote for cutting 3/4" off each end of a set of UL bars. However, when I went to Tharbars, I tried them full-width and I love them that way.

Since all threads are on the subject, can anyone advise where to purchase Renthal bars? Bikebandit cancelled my backorder after 25 days, just looking for a good retailer....

I bought mine at my local shop. Wasn't any more than online, only took a couple days, and kept my money fairly local. They got it through parts unlimited.

I did cut any off thebars and also mounted as faar out as possible. Also purchased at a local shop. When they give the same price as online, or even close, I buy locally.
