Terrific service from Dan Kyle Racing
I found this site in 2006 when I was deciding between a Triumph Speed Triple and a Honda 919. I read a number of posts and sent a pm to Lord Duckhunter (Mike). Mike pm’d me back and included his telephone number so I could call him. I thought that was service above and beyond and I called and spoke to him several times.
I bought the Triumph Speed Triple and in 2007 I bought an Ohlins shock from Dan Kyle Racing on a group buy sponsored by the Thespeedtriple.com. I spoke to Dan personally and he was very helpful. He took the time to answer my questions and got the proper information from me to set up the shock. The shock arrived quickly and after installation I did three track days at Summit Point Motorsports Park. There was a Penske truck there and the guys measured my sag and said it was spot on.
Fast forward to today. The shock is three years old and probably has 18,000 miles on it. It’s way overdue for a refresh but I am spending most of my time and money on my Triumph Daytona 675 track day only bike. I called Dan Kyle Racing to ask about prices and turn around time and was surprised to find that Mike worked there. Mike remembered me and we spent a few minutes catching up. He answered all my questions and I sent the shock off a few days later confident that the work was going to be done right.
When Dan Kyle Racing received my shock and disassembled it they found a gouge in the shock body near a spring coil. Mike called me and asked if I had had any problems with the shock. He also sent me cell phone pictures of the gouge. I had no idea anything was wrong, the shock had performed very well. I was unable to give them an idea about how the gouge happened. Dan filed a claim with Ohlins and got my shock fixed under warranty. The claim only added a week to the turn around time and I essentially got a new Ohlins shock with my refreshed internals.
I can’t say enough about Mike and Dan. Mike was kind enough to answer all my pm’s and to include his telephone number so I could call him. He impressed me with his knowledge of motorcycles and I appreciated his frank answers to my questions. Dan was equally patient with me, answered all my questions and was generous enough to file a warranty claim for my shock. The customer service I received from these guys was top notch. I plan to do business with them in the future and I’ll be telling everyone who will listen about my experience with Dan Kyle racing.
