Terrific service from Dan Kyle Racing

I found this site in 2006 when I was deciding between a Triumph Speed Triple and a Honda 919. I read a number of posts and sent a pm to Lord Duckhunter (Mike). Mike pmd me back and included his telephone number so I could call him. I thought that was service above and beyond and I called and spoke to him several times.

I bought the Triumph Speed Triple and in 2007 I bought an Ohlins shock from Dan Kyle Racing on a group buy sponsored by the Thespeedtriple.com. I spoke to Dan personally and he was very helpful. He took the time to answer my questions and got the proper information from me to set up the shock. The shock arrived quickly and after installation I did three track days at Summit Point Motorsports Park. There was a Penske truck there and the guys measured my sag and said it was spot on.

Fast forward to today. The shock is three years old and probably has 18,000 miles on it. Its way overdue for a refresh but I am spending most of my time and money on my Triumph Daytona 675 track day only bike. I called Dan Kyle Racing to ask about prices and turn around time and was surprised to find that Mike worked there. Mike remembered me and we spent a few minutes catching up. He answered all my questions and I sent the shock off a few days later confident that the work was going to be done right.

When Dan Kyle Racing received my shock and disassembled it they found a gouge in the shock body near a spring coil. Mike called me and asked if I had had any problems with the shock. He also sent me cell phone pictures of the gouge. I had no idea anything was wrong, the shock had performed very well. I was unable to give them an idea about how the gouge happened. Dan filed a claim with Ohlins and got my shock fixed under warranty. The claim only added a week to the turn around time and I essentially got a new Ohlins shock with my refreshed internals.

I cant say enough about Mike and Dan. Mike was kind enough to answer all my pms and to include his telephone number so I could call him. He impressed me with his knowledge of motorcycles and I appreciated his frank answers to my questions. Dan was equally patient with me, answered all my questions and was generous enough to file a warranty claim for my shock. The customer service I received from these guys was top notch. I plan to do business with them in the future and Ill be telling everyone who will listen about my experience with Dan Kyle racing.

That's an awesome customer service story. And unfortunately they are rare these days in any industry. I've also had a great experience with Dan, Mike, and DK Racing. Hats off guys - keep up the great work!

Thanks guys, what you have to understand is I really like what I do. I don't make a commission or anything like that, but I love being in a position to help others that feel the same about the sport as I do. Not only do I get to share what I have learned over the last 30 years of riding & testing, but I get to sell the top name performance products as well.

Cheers!

Don't really recall ...I think $250? No but really I think it was around $400 or so. My shop wants to sell me Vortex for $350 then give me my 15% discount. I know you hate Vortex sprockets just not sure about their rear sets.

I've bought stuff from Dan Kyle's in the past. Never been disappointed. Highly recommend it especially for those of you south of the 49th. There are some excellent outlets in Canada now, but just like south of the line, they are few and far between. No one has Kyle's credentials, that is for sure. I mean, not even the same chapter, let alone the same page.

Now hold on a sec !
Why would you not want to sell tougher stuff that can be bent back without snapping or fracturing, for the same price as the stuff that does ?
WHAT am I missing here ?

Funny enough most people don't care that the Sato rear sets are designed with the proper grade of aluminum specifically to bend instead of shear or that they use double ball bearings instead of sleeves nor do they care that we stock all the spare parts in all 3 colors all the time so replacements are only a phone call away...

What everybody wants is cheap prices on the front end and they worry about everything else only when they come to that bridge.
