So Ive went for a couple rides with the smh-5 installed and it seems to work great. I made a few calls while riding anywhere between 25-75mph and according to my wife she could hear me plan as day. The controls take alittle getting used to, for about an hour last night I couldnt figure out why I wasnt able to make a phone call. Turns out I had accidentaly turned the in-call volume all the way down. with earplugs in the speakers seemed to sound better oddly enough, not as treblely. I guess because the wind noise was cut out by the plugs. Overall im very happy with the headset.
As a point of reference, Im sporting a HJC RPHA Max helmet, definitely NOT the quietest lid in the world, it has a ton of air flow.

I've been using the SMH5 for a little while now. Im generally happy with it but do wish I could use earbuds for longer trips. FYI, getting the upgraded speakers is a worthwhile investment.

I inquired with a local dealer about a group-buy for SMH. As it is with GoPro, they can't sell it below a certain price. LAME! I may still buy one, but I'll have to find somewhere else as the dealer refuses to sign a contract where he can't cut a deal for a customer.

if you love your motorcycle, set it free.. if it comes back and hits you.. you highsided

I got them from Revzilla for $18.71. (Sena SMH5 Upgraded Speakers - RevZilla)
I just noticed they have them with a locking connector too for $24.95. (Sena SMH5 Large Speakers With Locking-Type Connector - RevZilla) Not sure how it works, but I wish they had that when I got mine; I don't care for how insecure the plug into the base feels.

Edit: Just noticed that the new SMH5 units have locking connectors for the cable. Wish mine did.
