Barkbusters Storms, they work great combined with heated grips.

I had to mod the mounting a bit to clear the master cylinder.

Questions, questions...

I like your setup.

What is the make/model of your windshield? Likewise, what is the model/part number of the Barkbusters? Do you have stock levers or are they shorties? TIA

National F15 windshield, not supposed to fir the 919 but I made it work. Barkbusters Storm S1 I think, look at twisted throttle ' s website. ASV short levers, C5 I believe.

I'm going to do a bit of resurrecting here.

I have read both this thread and the previously mentioned one ( https://www.wristtwisters.com/forums/...rds-21918.html ) and couldn't really get the info I was looking for.

When using Barkbusters, is anyone using a version with the full-wrap aluminum backbone ? From this fitment chart Articles - A Vicious Cycle, I see that the recommended product is the Storm S1, but that is a single point mounting handguard.

From what I gather, shorty levers will be required whichever one I go with, but is it possible to get the full-wrap Barkbusters installed ? And if I do try to get those mounted on stock bars, what sort of headaches am I looking at ?

I'm using the S7's which are a single point mount at the bar end (G2 Ergo threaded nylon inserts in the ends of Renthal UL bars) I'm using a shorty CRG brake lever but a full length CRG cluch lever with out any reall issues, I had to grind away a bit of the right inner plastic to clear the throttle cables and position the gaurd where I wanted it.

Thanks !
That's exactly the kind of info I need to make a decision on which handguards to go with.
They've been good at keeping the wind and elements off ?

They help a lot on the cold damp mornings, I've only worn my Alpinestars A5 shorty gloves for 3 years, haven't had to dig out the cold westher gloves in that time

Aren't those gloves for auto racing? I have thought about wearing them on a bike, but didn't know if people did that. That's awesome. I bet they are way more comfortable than most motorcycle gloves.

They may not be A5's, they're short cuff, with carbon fibre across the knuckles. I've had them so long that the tags are worn and un readable

Barkbusters

I've got the full backbone type installed on Renthal Ultralows with Vibranator inserts and elcheapo shorty levers. I had to add 5/8" spacers to the inside ends for clearance, but they are nice and solid. I got them from Twisted Throttle here.
