Puig Windscreen Questions
Hey guys, been looking at short style windscreens and have found several from Puig. I see them on hornets but in the description they are for 8" headlights and I think ours are 7". They may be going by outside diameter though and that would be correct. Will this screen fit I guess is my question https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00AC8650O/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1524141291&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=8"+headli ght+windscreen&dpPl=1&dpID=51NA55crm%2BL&ref=plSrc h

Well it's not the carbon screen. It's black but here are some pics to see how it fits.
I too was worried about the Puig being for 8 inch headlights and the 919 having a 7 inch headlight. So I ordered an F16 sport windscreen. You can get them in the US from National Cycle
There is a mounting kit specific for the 919 that you need to order with it (BAG#459)
The F16 is a bit taller than other windscreens and offers a bit more wind protection than windscreens with lower profiles.
I have yet to install mine, but plan on doing it sometime this summer. Below is a screen shot from a YouTube install video (not my bike or video!)

Puig on the 848.
I like those exhaust cans. Screen suits the bike.

It's hard to get a good pic of the Puig on the 848. It looks as tho it belongs.
The Puig was $142, I think. Seems like very decent quality. I like having it on the bike.

I have tried the National Cycle F16 Tour screen, I found it to really push a lot of wind at speed to the helmet on long hauls at high speed. After a bunch of other mods including the Renthal mediums, 520 chain with higher ratio sprockets , and frame sliders (along with rebuilding the forks and a number of other outstanding maintenance issues), I finally added the National Cycle Street Shield. I know purists will poo poo the windscreen in general, but it's certainly made my daily commute so much less strenuous. Although with the detachable nature of the product, I'll probably take it off when the weather warms up....
I installed the National F16 Tour windscreen on my bike but didn’t realize I needed to buy the install kit so made my own kit. This was immediately before a 4 day 3500 km trip to CA front BC last spring. The result was great for making my torso quiet but some blast on my head. My plan now is to create new mounting plates to position the windscreen more vertically on the bike and see what happens.
