new carbon bits :)

Just got the carbon side plates and hugger from gsg i ordered from streetfighters inc. Fit and finish is good and the weave matches the carbon heel guards from gilles tooling nicely.

Also ran into a fellow 9er at the Sportland in bloomington. He has a clean 06 with sato's and few other extras. He's currently a lurker but i encouraged him to register. He recognized my bike from the forum

I have those same pieces and then some...Carbon fiber is like "crack" for me and if it replaces plastic it gets done! Actually I have been rascaling with myself as to whether I like the bike with or without the hugger???

I like the hugger. It keeps my license plate and ohlins shock a bit cleaner.

Right now I am experimenting with the Hugger removed. I have found that much of the crap gets tossed above and over it. I looked on the underside to see how much it was collecting and it was almost nothing? I dont have many miles on it this way so too soon to tell. There is also the grease getting slong off the chain especially after lubing but most of that goes out the back (and into the counter sprocket area) and didnt see much in the hugger portion? I expect I will eventually go back with it but I sure do like that open no nonsense look to the rear! My next upgrade will probably be a Penske shock and I will probably want to protect it as well.
