I have a set of the Renthal "Ultra Low" on my bike with barend mirrors, and they don't hit the tank.

High bars will work, but they won't be pre drilled, which is okay, it's not hard at all

I didnt drill my rizoma's since i wasnt sure if I would want to cut them later or not so i filled of the tabs inside the controls. In order to stop any movement of the controls i put small pieces of rubber hose on the inside of the controls. Now I am free to make changes to the bars as I would like.

Definately, I want to see someone with a set on a 919. Better yet on a wheelie with apehangers.

I have the Renthal mids and love them
More comfortable than the crappy stockers, look better and cuts down on the vibes even without barends
They don't come drilled nut it is a piece of cake and takes about five minutes even if you measure three times before you drill

no need to measure too many times, wrap a couple of wraps of electrical tape around the bar, put controls back on and tighten screws than remove controls. Tabs will leave nice print in the tape showing you exactly where to drill.

speaking of handlebars. There is a new motorcycle shop in town so I stopped in yesterday. They carry a ton of on- and off-road stuff. I asked if they had any Renthal road bars and they said no. Then he looked up the specs and cross-referenced them to an off-road bar. The Pro-Taper RM Bend bars are the same except the sweep back. There is a 1.5 degree difference (the road bars are more swept). I might jump on them and give them a shot. they are only $45.

RM? Is that the Ricky Carmichael bars? I have a set in the basement I pulled of a dirtbike. Let me know how they work, I may try the same.

Two wheelin for the feelin.

You will have to drill yourself, but if you are going with Renthal High bars there will be no problem with hitting the tank. My Ultra lows have clearance.
