mods keep on coming

can't seem to stop for some reason. bought some rizoma bars. fair bit lower than the stockies, not as swept back but still comfortable, aluminium so less vibrations hopefully, plus the weight saving. $120(aud) but the bar ends were $60. Then things started to get weird. pieces were getting removed from my bike, brakes to be immaculately cleaned before getting my braided lines from ebay nbm woolford (anyone with good or bad experiences with these?) $100. bought a set of cbr headers that have already been painted from a bloke at work only another 100. Two nuts from the exhaust, which were loosely finger tight on the studs so i wouldn't loose them managed to somehow fall directly into the new headers which i had laying underneath the bike. Didn't realise untill i had the new header lifted onto the bike with 6 out of 8 nuts installed. looked around for 10 mins then thought. nah couldn't have. yet lo and behold. murphy's law working still. Looks like i'm going to have to grind off the centre stand mounting bracket. Guessing this is old news for all who've done the mod. But maybe a new shock mount can be fabricated from the remainder of what i grind away. Making a template for the new lights, thinking i'll fabricate 3. One for a dual side by side setup, one for the two down low and one above triple look. and one more for the one on top of another. this way the bikes look can be changed to suit the mood i guess. plus its during work hours. Whilst the bike's tail was off was thinking about making an underseat cowl to clean up the look. Then had an idea of a removable frame (properly supported) which could convert the bike from a one seater to a two seater. Effectively making two bikes from one. maybe another time though. Space would be an issue for the computer etc. looking at a pcIII. seems my visa is getting a workout. Ah im stimulating the economy its for the good of everyone i'm doing this. Its a good excuse anyway to tell the missus.

quickest ebay purchase

well in the morning i woke up looked around on ebay and found that ixil exhaust. as a turn of luck my girlfriend was in perth (other side of oz) for three days coming back sunday night. (bid on sunday day) in my anticipated state i tried to co-ordinate two people to meet up and exhange a package, all during her work hours. Since she was flying back that night and i was on night shift at the airport it all seemed too much like destiny. These things were meant to happen. God too must approve of what i'm doing. Further signs as to i'm doing the right thing. So last night i got handed my new exhaust, unwrapped it and scratched my head for a bit. some strange things must be happening on cbr1000r land (baffle's are baffling). included are the pics of when i got home and taped it on, just to see what it'd potentially look like. Also as i'm writing this i got a knock on my door. My new brake lines are here. Sorry to nbm woolford for the email enquiring as to what happened to notifiying of shipping, but i'm anxious for these things. Now one last night shift, hopefully finish off my brackets for the lights. got distracted by sex drive - (the movie). Fairly funny look for the unrated one. random things like naked people just strolling through the movie, movie's kind of like road trip though. anyway time for pics.

oh the exhaust yeah. weird huh about the baffle. i'm guessing it slips into a larger pipe. its been welded a bit on so will have to go. The welds aren't that great. in fact down right ugly. but am used to pretty aircraft welds. plus its too long. just a strange set up (am i nagging to much?) . retricting the exhaust that much would have to be bad for the engine. stuck it on to see what it'd sound like. yes the gasket is a piece of old t-shirt. anxious as i said. plus it wasn't going to be on too long. nice tone. deeper than the bafflectomy. which is what i was after. be interesting how its going to turn out. be good on a full stainless system. but seeing as the headers i have aren't. both cbr and hornet. im a bit reluctant to weld them on seeing as i'd probably change them in the future.
