Hey all, got a dilemma with the seat. It's in reasonable shape, but it's pretty slippery. I wear synthetics, not leathers, and even with grip pads on the tank I can slide forward a bit under hard maneuvering. I read the posts and such here, and it seems like people like both the Luimoto seat cover and having the foam rebuilt by Spencer's. If you were going to do one or the other, which one would you do? It's a bit tricky for mine, since the bike is a daily commuter, but I can spring for fast shipping if it's a significantly better option. Also, for the Luimoto, with or without the gel? I certainly wouldn't mind vibrating the boys a bit less.
Wijalis, thats who I went with. Fitted the cover myself. Very grippy and comfortable. The cover has a 5mm layer of foam on the underside. I chose all black. http://www.ebay.com/itm/143023367603
It's a great seat cover. I couldn't be happier. It went on easy. I'd never covered a seat before but it was a breeze. I got myself an air stapler, watched a few videos and went at it.
Cool. Gonna try the Polish cover and a gel insert underneath. I like the bike's enthusiasm, but I'm looking forward to having a little less compression.
Got and installed the gel pad, which helps a lot. Ordered the Polish cover, will update when I get it. Already a much more comfortable ride, will probably get even better when I get a non-dead rear shock.
Also suuuuper happy with the Polish cover. See attached photo; went on easy, looks great, even shipped ahead of their estimates. Love the gel, too, though getting that in was a mess.
I reached out to spencer and never got a reply. Try reaching out to Seats By Tommy? They're based out of Melbourne FL. Jimmy there is pretty cool!
