Help a brother out

Hey guys. Well, I'm hoping someone out there can help me. I bought a PCIII USB for the 9er used from this guy for like $150. Heck of a deal, right? Except that it didn't come with the software CD. Now, i downloaded the interface program from the PC website, but I'm afraid i don't have the drivers for the device itself, since those should be on the CD. So, can someone burn me a copy of their CD and drop it in the mail for me? That'd be super. Thanks.

Have you actually tried to connect your computer to the PC ?
Did you get an error message re driver ?
You may be able to skin the cat another way.
When I first started out trying to get my laptop to talk to the PC on the bike, I got an error message about missing a driver.
Don't ask me how, but somehow someway it mystically was downloadable from the internet, and suddenly I was in business.
Maybe that will do the trick for you.

Well, i did hook it up, and the PC3 software will detect it, connect, then disconnect. I can't send maps or anything to it. I thought maybe actually having the CD would correct the issue.

I'd be happy to if you still need it by the time I get home. I will zip it up and email it if you like. Probably not too big. I hope....

If you got a good connection, (I have a cable modem) I could also burn an ISO image, email it to you and you can burn your own CD right away.

I do have cable internet, whatever works would be great. I really hope that actually having the CD fixes everything, if not... oh boy.

i simply installed the software from the pc website itsef (should contain the drivers for the program along with the software). what operating system are you running? you most likely dont need the cd or an iso. you can google power commander drivers and download em quick.

Okay, so i've gotten the software in, the program recognizes the PC3, but says it isn't communicating. Do i need to have it installed on the bike for it to work? If so, that's kinda tarded.

are you asking if the power commander needs to be installed on the bike in order for the computer and the power commander to work/communicate? yes. the power commander draws power from the bike's battery and thus the power commander needs to be installed, and the key needs to be in the "on" position for ignition for the power commander to have power.

UNLESS you have a 9volt battery and the adapter that goes with it, yes, it needs external power.

The adapter is nice when you're battery is almost dead ;-) and you want to set the throttle position without rapping the crap out of it.

Oh, here's a like to the software in my dropbox if anyone is interested: Dropbox - PC3Usb 3.2.1 Setup.exe

So, what all do you have to do when installing on the bike itself (not the physical stuff). You turn the key on, load your map, then is everything hunky dory? I've never done this before.
