EBC Break Pads and Goodrich Break Lines?

I been thinking about a set of EBC break pads and Goodrich Steel Braided Break Lines.
Has any one had any experience, thoughts, or suggestions on these?

G & J for the brake lines, OEM for the pads(seems to be the general concensus), search and you will find...

Can't go wrong with just about any line.....I've used them all....Goodridge, Speigler, Galfer. I can say the Speiglers were my favorite....good instructions, customized colors, and the Bajos swivel for a perfect fit.

Currently have clear Galfers on the 9er.

Very many bad comments about EBC - opinions vary. I had a set of HH's on the 9er - initial bite was brutal and annoying.

Everyone does however agree that the OEM's work well.

Why? I mean the Spieglers I sell are all DOT approved, but for decades I have used non-DOT race use only braided lines and never encountered a problem so I am curious why you advise not to go with them.

There is a legal reason in some places, out of North America that is.
Bikes that get annual mechanical inspections seem to typically have to have TUV or DOT markings on the brake lines or the bike will get bounced.

I understand that as well, but when I read a "be careful" warning I have to assume it is more than just a legality.

In case of a very serious accident, all your gear is inspected (at least thats what happens here), having a non-dot equipment might give you trouble. Just like not having winter tyres in winter time, no matter how the accident happens you lose the insurance/etc fight for not having proper gear.

We don't have to worry too much about such issues in the US....with brake lines at least.

Now aftermarket exhaust is becoming a different story.

As far as the pads go, oem as above. The EBC's I tried on my KLR left me frustrated with noise.
