Test ride K 1300 S

Went to the dealer with my son and test rode the BMW K 1300 S. Holy Smoke. Un real power starts early and gets scary as you spool it up. We had two bikes out , at the suggestion of the dealer, so we could ride together and switch off whenever we wanted.( The other bike was an 800 something. )The controls were easy for me , and i have never been os a sports bike. Went like a scalded cat and stopped scarry well. Wierd sensesation when you brake as the front end dosen't dive. Ergos worked for me and i'm 5'9" @ 195. Heated grips put me over the top.
Ordered it this morning ! Lava Orange. Pick it up next week.

Congrats! Sweet bike, and I really dig the color. It is quite the departure from an FXS, I hope it bring you miles of smiles.

Thanks !!!
The color isn't as brash as the pics. I'ts a little more subdued. And < yes it is quite a departure from my H-D. Figured I would cover both extremes .

Check out your local BMW dealer. They will let you test flog....er..ride it!!
They didn't even blink when BigMike919 and I asked for a spin. The DEALER suggested we take out two bikes so we could switch off without comming back to the shop.

Effing 800 they gave us ran out of gas... those lights do work! Funny thing was we joked with the guy

" These things have gas, right?"

He laughed and i ran out of fuel! As a side note, the 800 (?) was the slowest thing i have ever riden... It felt like it would have been overcome by a Vespa gang...

The 1300 was AMAZING! Breathtaking, even, and all it took was a MC licence and over 21. I recomend it to anyone. I have pics, but the wife is asleep, will post tomorrow.

Wow. My first big street bike was a K1100...it forced me to get an Electraglide Sport, because I could not keep the speed down. It was just too much fun. I ground the floorboards off of that ES, though. My current '07 919 is hard to keep under Mach 1, too, but, I'm old enough that I'm going to try and control myself.

Enjoy the flying brick; they are great bikes, as you know!

I wish they let us take that one out! This one was a small sports bike, fairings, similar seating to the 919, no clip ons, red lined at 7,500? 8,000?... if they had given us two of them to use like rollerskates, that would have been sweet! Honestly, just getting to ride the K1300S was worth the whole thing, and more!

The ol man came down to the Island Tuesday to do some chit and then do some ridin... When he hit the drive way, we did some B.S., then went to start it... NOTHIN. They apparently had a bad run of switches and had to have the thing towed to New Hide Park (60 miles) and took a day waitin and not ridin to get him movin... BMW is suppose to pick up the tab on everything while the bike was down...

Still one hell of a bike in my oppinion.
