Parking Structures

I took 9er to a conference. They free validate their parking. I get to the gate and it didn't easily recognize the bike's small metal footprint. I rolled it back and forth until it finally printed a pass, but then the gate didn't open! I waited for the attendant to show and recycle the machine while many cages backed up behind me... The road sensors must have been calibrated for Big Iron HD. Now I'm wondering if it will let me out...

Depending on the stairwell, the stairs might work too. Either way take pics.

Just like in Termiator2 when the T2 rode the cop bike up the stairwell...

OH, WAIT...

That was a trials bike dressed up to look like a HD
Thanks Hollywood for almost making me believe.

Good luck getting out dream.
When I leave work I always just go around the end of the arm, it's easier than swiping my badge to raise it & then putting my ID away before it comes down again.

The gates at my old apartment comples used to be like that. All the bikes including myself just hopped the sidewalk for 10 feet to get past the gates. It was the only way to get out of the complex on a bike.

I tend to go around the gates if at all possible as well, to hard to get cars/remotes with gloves on!

Hey, the evil parking structure let me out!
Thank you for all the excellent ideas and inspiration to escape! Riding down the PS stairs is a funny image...but 9er is not quite that nimble... Upsets me the structure discriminates against bikes as they didn't tune their sensors! I was impressed the cagers didn't start honking and being obnoxious. What a awesome day to ride. Many at the conference wore suits and I also dressed up in Leathers.

Good to hear you made it out alive. It would have been sad to hear the headlines otherwise. "Motorcyclist attacked by parking garage exit gate." It was a tough fight for the rider. The gate's bob and weave skills are incredible.

Thanks Bro! The gate side didn't have enough space to squeeze through. So even though I had my ticket validated... I contemplated rocketing in behind the car exiting. So very glad I didn't try something that stupid, since the gate fell so quickly, it would easily scraped me off 9er! Confessing to a ghost rider accident on WT would have been so embarrassing... Another great bike-commute day!
