Talking New Gixxer 1000 impressions

Well, my wife who is going to school to become a therapist, has concluded that I am 100% certifiably insane. Her thesis will be about me and my mental conditions.

Yes, I have done it again and added another bike to the stable...an 07 Gixxer 1000

So now I have an 07 KTM 525 Supermoto, an 04 KTM 250 SX woods bike, an 05 RC 51 and an 07 Gixxer 1000......ouch.

Anyhow, if you're in the market for a big 1000cc bike, don't look any further. This bike beats them all. The bike is in the league of an expensive Ducati for handling, but in a league of its own for power (read fast). The triple mapping switch is a graceful act of mercy from Suzuki Corp. for us, substandard street riders .

The only one I have not test ridden is the new R1. But this Gixxer is very impressive. I have never ridden anything quite like it.

Riding position is very comfortable. Handling is near perfect. Brakes are super. Stock suspension is outstanding. For the price, it beats any Ducati.

Mine is yellow, because I have lost my mind and IIam convinced yellow is faster.......

I started some basic mods, but I am not going crazy with this one. It runs great as is and has a closed loop FI, which I do not want to screw around with. Sofar I have added:

Yosh CF dual slip ons (beautiful pieces)
Evotech (UK) muffler hangers
Sato black billet rearsets
Sato frame sliders
Pazzo levers

To be added: Steel braided lines.

Now if only the weather would cooperate . I guess today will be a dirtbike day for me

Phil

Did you trade in a S4RS (in your bio) for it? Or was that a joke?

Sold the S4RS in January...too many electronic gremlins...if you see what I mean. So I do NOT recommend Ducatis at all (unless you do not intend to ride).

Pics...what pics. Oh yeah pics. Let me get some first.

By tomorrow, should have them.
