Found this site -- sounds of most of Honda's GP bikes, F1 cars, and the original 1947 model A (their first motorcycle) Hunt down the 1965/66 rc 149 125cc 5 cyl -- good for 22,000 RPM in overruns!

Cool!
Rob

If it has already been done, it is safe to assume it is possible to do it.
On the other hand, if it has not been done never assume it is impossible to do it.

It still amazes me that Honda was building a 22,000 rpm 250cc inline six way back in the sixties. I bet the piston diameter was the size of a half dollar.

Now that's a ringtone I could get behind! If anyone figures out how to do this be sure to post it.

Sorry, unless it's at full honk, you can't tell a thing about it. That's why all the clips sound so good. Try putting a digital recorder in a fanny pack, then have at it. I'd like to hear a recording of a full lap from a race or track day!

BTW, here is a site with a very comprehensive history of Honda's foray into GP racing, also a link to the sound fansite.

And one more for some scale, note the big end and lack of bolts.

Go to this site for a free ringtone converter/sender that works from MP3 or .wav files (among others)

Works nicely!

Alright Bock, spill the beans. How did you do it? Rob's site, or do you have some other 919'er only secret handshake trick?

I used Pure Voice, it's a sound recorder by Qualcomm. My sound card (Sound Blaster Extigy) lets me record directly to itself, so I played the file and recorded with Pure Voice (which is a free program, by the way) and saved the file as a .qcp file. Then I uploaded it to www.3gforfree.com and sent it to my phone. Easy as cake, piece of pie.

I liked the idea of a secret handshake better.
