Hospital Ride.

Family asked me to run a medical errand...I'll jump at any excuse to ride the 9er! There was plenty of free bike parking in front of the Hospital. But inside I quickly noticed folks stared at me. Maybe they are not use to seeing riders sporting ATGATT? Very glad I was visiting as a proxy. I was supposed to make a second trip for a signed medical release but after she saw I rode cut me some slack, WooHoo! Lots of sick folks in there suffering was a great motivator to take care to stay away. The errand was 110ml or 38MPG.

I actually double checked that.

Visiting a hospital is not bad when you park the bike at the front door and leave quickly. I noticed most folks workin there are in horrible shape. Recently that's the second medical facility I've observed that! Makes it tough to appreciate any of their stay healthy advice...

I don't know if working in health care leads to being out of shape or if out of shape people are drawn to health care but I concur with your observation.

Gyms hire employ fit folks, but you have a choice whether to give them your business. It's horrible the health care industry employs unhealthy folks that don't practice what they preach. The local medical center keeps begging with glossy mailers, but good health is not a priority for their employment. I'm returning the "tip" their employees should get fit to save much more than could ever be donated. I seek out healthy folks to give my biz, for they teach and inspire!

Unfortunately a relative is having open heart surgery. This is further motivating to follow a great diet, keep stress low and exercise. The silver lining is more 9er trips to the hospital.
