His and Hers Pics

Couldn't resist lining them up for a photo shoot. Obviously we still need an Adventure Dual Sport, a Dirtbike, and some type of full fairing Sportbike....oh yeah, and a scooter!

I'd have thrown the BSA in there but it's under cover at my office, that project stalled before it ever got started.

But look at that 9'er, a few more blacked out parts and it will be invisible!

You're kind of right I guess, as much as I love the 919 and enjoy Gin's bikes, the FJR is a whole different class of machine. I was trying to come up with some analogy to describe it, best I could do was comparing it to a fine sports coupe like a BMW 6 Series. Fast, powerful, luxurious accomodations for two, yet competent and agile, and can take off on a high speed cross country trip without even thinking twice about it.

Yeah, figure that would be the sportbike option. CBR600RR or R6 maybe? Then the KLR so I can join in the dirty fun, some small dirt bike that Gin can ride, and we're all set except for the Vespa.

I enjoyed seeing and feeling the size and weight differentials as I moved the bikes around. FJR=582lbs, 919=427lbs, 599=401lbs, Vulcan 500=439lbs. The FJR feels every bit of its listed weight, my 919 has shed several pounds through aftermarket exhaust, rear sets, and CF fenders but still feels hefty, 599 also lost a bit with the exhaust and has always felt much lighter than the 919, Vulcan seems less heavy because of its low center of gravity. I'd also never noticed how big the Vulcan's front wheel was in a side by side comparison.

Nice line up! My garage seems empty this summer only having one bike in it since I sold the 954, and the ol DT 400 is spending the summer in ND with my son on my parent ranch so he can ride it.

Great looking herd you got there. I'm really excited because once I move down there my grandpa may give me an old cb200 he has had in his shed forever. Then I'll have two bikes. Working my way up.

Hmm, looks like I need to do a new photo shoot myself. The 919 has been gone nearly a year already...

Man Ken, that Wing is huge! Beautiful bike though, I've ridden an older one, would love to check out a newer one like yours. Looks very comfy!

Which reminds me, as I rode the FJR home from Michigan, I saw three (3) Harleys broken down along the roadside. Two guys on cell phones with their women sitting in the ditch looking bored, one old hairy dude diving in with tools, bike torn all apart right on the shoulder. I've never experienced that with any of my Japanese bikes....of course I've never had a KLR either...sorry Ridge!

Nice looking line up Sbeau. I'll have to get the family picture soon too. Currently the stable consists of my brother's 919, Dad's ST1300, step dad's Shadow Spirit 1100, and soon to be my CBR. I guess all we'll lack then is the dirt bike, and I'm trying to fix that.

Sporty, you should really consider getting a sport bike. Mix it up a little.
