despite the educational value of this vid, and its original purpose i'm gonna say the bike was at fault here. In the first scene the car barely begins to move up and I'd be stretching it to say he moved even six inches from where he was stopped. This leads me to believe he was either pulled way way to far out into the lane where he stopped, in which case the bike should have seen him blocking the lane and slowed,, or the bike was riding on the sidewalk which is a no-no everywhere as far as I know.

Other than that poor first shot I'd say this is a good video that may hit home for some people who would be otherwise clueless.

he rolled more than a couple of inches.. when he got out to see the "victim" his car is more than halfway across the lane...

that happened to me about 20 years ago back in Brazil on a smaller bike. basically, was…green light (for me), 1st, 2nd, 3rd…..woke up in hospital. The bastard run a red light.
At first, I could not remember what hell happened to me. I woke up with a nurse stitching my head but I did not know why…

They make some brutal PSA's (Public Service Announcements) in the UK..

YouTube - Nightlights Kill - The Gaping Chasm Of Misery and Regret

I really wish they would run that kind of stuff over here. But you know it wouldn't "sell"

Well thats kinda what I was getting at by saying in the first scene. the subsequent scenes all show it properly, I wasn't judjing the message but rather the filming I suppose. Poor editing maybe? I've watched it a few times and I still say that from watching that first scene the car did not move more than a few inches froma full stop. However in the other scenes it shows he was out there and that he moved more. The film was obviously filmed with multiple cameras and numerous "takes". They could have used a better one for the first scene actually showing the car pulling out instead of the bike just ramming him while he sat there.

hahaha, and what a waste of bikes! Now thinking about it though it was probably one take and multiple cameras, and the car was probably sticking way too far out in the lane to start with. Thus making it appear as if it didn't pull out much but in the end showing it halfway out into the lane.

I rented a car while I ws in England back in January, and the whole "wrong-side-of-the-road" thing was a very big deal for me! I did ok, despite a couple of Clark Griswold moments in the roundabouts...my GF has never driven, either and wasn't up to snuff as a navigator, so spotting weirdly different road signs and interpreting them in a timely manner was a big challenge! We had some good laffs about it.

Well, fire the engines! Spur this iron space-pony on!
